This year we stayed home and it was lovely! We made some special memories as a little family and did our tradition of visiting the rest home for caroling and Christmas hugs to the grandmas there. Below are some photos of the kids on Christmas which was actually on Sunday this year. The kids weren't too excited about my idea to not open presents until the next day so that we could focus our thoughts on the Savior that day, but they were surprisingly pretty good sports about it. That Christmas Eve night, instead of loading the tree with gifts we simply placed a porcelain doll in a homemade manger-ish basket full of strings which the kids had collected by (painfully) doing service for their pixie. It was seriously the best Christmas I can remember. Oh and I told them that on Christmas and Easter Sundays they have no say in what they wear, so for the first time (and probably the last), I bribed my little boys to wear newsboy hats:)
Love these pics, your narrative, and the hats—of course those hats! hugs!
